Helensville is a great town in which to live and a wonderful place to visit.

The area was originally called Te Awaroa by early Maori which means "the long river valley". I find it a rather romantic story that an early Scottish timber miller Mr John McLeod built a house in the area and named it "Helen's Villa" in honor of his wife, and it is from this that the town's name originated.

Helensville is a historic town and a special place with a relaxed lifestyle and plenty to offer. Recreational amenities in the area abound ranging from historic buildings, the hot springs at Parakai, an aerodrome, through to harbor cruising on the mighty Kaipara Harbour, golf, horse riding, adventure activities in the nearby Woodhill Forest and much much more. There is accommodation, shopping and a choice of delicious food retailers all at your fingertips.

We invite you to visit us and to enjoy the welcoming local friendly faces will you find. You may even become so enchanted with this unique boutique town you may not wish to leave.
